UKDrum & Bass duo and stalwarts of the scene more commonly recognised as 2Shy MC and Promo ZO join heads on production to bring you Konnect. The DJ & MC combo knuckled down on the beats to create a multitude of “Rona Rollers” and gritty underground Jungle influenced tracks. You can be sure of much more to come from this collaboration including the release of Margate and Six Foot Deep on Conjunction Recordings.

Promo ZO the selectress hailing from Kent has been behind the scenes of many pivotal moments in Drum & Bass.
From Drum & Bass Arena’s first album to legendary club promotions AWOL, Breakin’ Science and Ministry of Sound. Together with representing artists including former BBC 1Xtra’s Bailey and D&B’s amp man 2Shy MC, it’s no surprise that she knows her beats! A music industry insider with a vast working history spanning back to the now defunct Limelight Club, React Records and more presently Sundown Festival, Zo certainly has a deep rooted musical journey to share. With past broadcasts on Ministry of Sound Radio presenting alongside the likes of DJ Zinc and regular guest mixes on Kane FM. Speed to the present day and Promo ZO can be found broadcasting live every Wednesday on Bassdrive, plus regularly playing the London club circuit as a Faster & DNB Brunch resident.
2Shy MC, a name given in irony a fact that becomes evident when he performs. Blessed with an ability matched by few and a versatility to work across all spectrums of music it soon becomes apparent that this well established and supremely talented MC has very little of the shyness about him. The Amp Man, The Compare, The Host and much more, with his unique style of delivery and a lyrical content that’s fresh, upfront and relevant, where he spits “The reality known to him” he not only has an innate understanding of the music and what the DJ plays but the ability to connect with the crowd and link them together as one. An MC who is respected and loved in equal measures by the DJ’s and ravers alike is a rare thing indeed but 2Shy does this with ease due to his natural talent and stellar stage presence. He has been perfecting his craft for a number of years and in 96 2Shy became resident MC for Dylan & Facs earlier imprints Biotic and XXX Recordings, he was soon touring as resident MC with these labels throughout Europe and the UK. In ’99 2Shy teamed up with good friend and Producer / DJ Mechanism becoming a DJ/MC duo representing MC GQ’s ‘Emcee Recordings’, It was around this time he secured his residency at Fabric Live which he still holds to the present day.

It was at Fabric Live where his hard spittin’ skills were spotted by Renegade Hardware, and his voice became the signature sound at Hardware club nights worldwide, for over a decade. 2Shy further cemented himself a place within the mighty Metalheadz camp, the empire founded by Goldie and more recently with Ram Records, Playaz, Pure Science and Get Hype. 2012 saw the launch of 2Shy’s “Reflective Music Show” on Bassdrive plus releases on Deception Recordings, Dutty Audio, Faded Music, IM:LTD, Qilin Music, Cyclone Recordings and Eat Brain. 2Shy‘s popular Drum and Bass radio show now airs live on PyroRadio. Early 2017 2Shy released his debut hip hop 18 track mixtape “Once Bitten” with features from fellow Drum and Bass MC’s Dynamite, Carasel, DRS, Youthstar, Linguistics and Armani Reign.

It’s been a steady climb to the top of his game which has seen him perform across the World with the likes of Andy C, Noisia, The Prototypes, Killbox and more as a host of main stage performances at festivals including Glastonbury, Global Gathering, Creamfields, SW4, Reading and Leeds, Shambala, Ultra, Outlook, Rampage, and Animalz, as well as appearances at the World famous Amnesia in Ibiza.
