Coming Home E.P. Released August 2019
Label founder Catalyst .AD kicks it all off with the long awaited “Coming Home” EP in collaboration with the amazing talents of animator Simon Vella to bring you a melodic bass heavy dubstep track along with a suitably themed animated video experience which brings the whole project to life. The initial idea for this spawned from the amazing record breaking achievement of Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner and the Red Bull Stratos Dive. Witnessing this fantastic achievement inspired Catalyst to begin writing a chilled dubstep style track based around the theme of the Space Dive. The track itself begins with a calm build up in the introduction which is layered with uplifting guitar melodies over some simple but hard hitting drums that lead the listener through the ascent into the stratosphere. The introduction then reaches a climax and concludes with Felix's famous speech as he prepared himself for the record breaking descent back to earth. An epic drop then rolls into a chilled but uplifting sub-bass fuelled track that aims to transpose the amazing views from space and take you through an epic musical ride. The E.P then takes you through three further tracks with a different “Lost in Space” mix of the title track, a more dark and minimal take on the track with classic jungle break beats and dark synths lead you into the mysterious depths of space! Next up us the deep and sinister Drum and Bass track “Deception”, a dark, liquid style roll-out infused with spaced out fx, sinister vocals and a rumbling bassline to round it all off. Last up is the dreamy, blade runner – esque “Too Far Gone”, a melodic liquid drum and bass stepper, filled with with lush pads, dreamy vox and a nice deep synth bass to shake the speakers.
